    Play Naturally

Act as your character would in a harsh, cold, and uncertain world. Speak when it makes sense. Fight when it makes sense. Walk away when it makes sense.

Expectations

What we expect from players

You are expected to roleplay through your actions first. Voice roleplay should be natural, not theatrical. Silence, hesitation, and fear are valid parts of interaction.

You are not required to write backstories, fill out character sheets, or announce roleplay intentions. Simply behave believably.

Quick answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a whitelist or an application? No. There is no whitelist and no application form. Set up the mod list, read the rules, connect and start surviving.
How many mods does the server run? 12 mods, curated for a Vanilla+ feel: no minimaps, no kill feeds, no floating names. Your launcher installs them automatically from the server's mod list.
Is Northbound first person only? Yes. The server runs hardcore first person with 100 slots, dark nights and hardcore loot tuning.
Which map does the server run? ChernarusPlus 2.0, our rebuilt Chernarus with night street lights, hidden custom areas and two key chains worth chasing. Deer Isle is Northbound's second world, with a lore entirely of its own.
Do I need to be a roleplay veteran? No. Organic RP means no scripts, no character sheets and no forced accents. Behave believably; silence, hesitation and fear are valid roleplay.
Where do the players come from? Everywhere. Northbound is an international community with English as the server language; most survivors join from the USA and Europe. Players from Germany and the rest of the world are just as at home here, in game everyone simply sticks to English.
