1. Who we are

This website is the public-facing information hub of the Settlers community and our DayZ server, available at dayzorganicrp.com.

2. What data we collect

This website does not use tracking scripts, advertising networks, or analytics services. Apart from the optional user accounts described in section 6, we do not collect or store any personal data through the website itself.

The following data may be processed automatically by our hosting provider when you access this site:

  • Your IP address (anonymised after access)
  • Date and time of access
  • Browser type and operating system
  • The page requested

This data is standard server log data, is not linked to individual users, and is used solely for technical operation and security purposes.

The homepage shows a simple visitor counter. To count each visitor at most a few times per hour it stores a keyed, one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself) for up to 24 hours. The same short-lived hashed records protect the login, registration and upload forms against abuse.

3. Cookies

This website does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. It sets one technically necessary session cookie (NBSESS) on every visit. That cookie carries no tracking data: it protects the forum and gallery forms against cross-site request forgery, keeps the visitor counter from counting the same browser session twice, and keeps you logged in if you have an optional user account (see "User accounts" below). It is deleted when you close your browser.

5. Play Statistics

The Play Statistics page displays in-game data (player names, playtime, and gameplay metrics) sourced from our game server. This data is voluntarily generated by players who join our DayZ server. No real-name or contact information is displayed. To keep the all-time counters on the homepage correct across wipes, the website stores each player's in-game name, CFTools ID and high-water statistics on our own server. If you want your name removed from the statistics pages, contact us by email or on Discord.

6. User accounts

You can optionally create a free user account to take part in our community forum and screenshot gallery. If you register an account, we store the following data on our own server:

  • Your chosen username (publicly visible)
  • Your email address (never shown publicly; used only for account recovery)
  • A cryptographic hash of your password (we never store your password itself)
  • The date your account was created and the time of your last login
  • Likes and comments you leave on screenshots, linked to your username
  • Short-lived, hashed rate-limit records used to protect the login, registration and upload forms from abuse; these are kept for no longer than 24 hours

Logged-in sessions use a single technically necessary session cookie. Forum posts, images you attach to them and uploaded screenshots you publish are visible to all visitors together with your username. You can delete your own posts, their images and your screenshots at any time.

You can delete your account yourself at any time via your account settings, or ask us to delete it by contacting us by email or on Discord. Deleting your account removes your personal data, your uploaded screenshots, the images attached to your forum posts and your likes and comments; your forum posts are replaced with a "[deleted]" marker, and the titles of threads you started remain visible.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you. Apart from the optional user accounts described above, we do not collect personal data through this website. For any questions, contact us by email or via Discord.
